fortunate for me, I'm fluent in Korean and were eavesdropping on my manicurists, massage therapists and waxers on the salon for years. I simply lie through my teeth that I'm adopted and pay in cash, or that I not ever discovered Korean because my parents desired me to assimilate — when the reality is that I studied overseas in Korea, and attended Korean faculty every Saturday morning of my adolescent existence.
